Chelo's Hometown Bar & Grille: A Heartfelt Dining Experience in Cranston, RI

I placed an order for pick up and the total surprise me. 80.00.. wowzers.. Come to find out I had a very OLD MENU.. lol 2014 version..needless to say I cleaned my junk draw of all old menus. 6 yrs and they only increased the cost by 1.99. That's awesome. We ordered the appetizer sampler, 2 Baked Scrod dinners specials (includes dessert) one had broccoli with cheese and back potato and for my side I had baked potato and squash. The 2 desserts were double chocolate cake and banana cream pie. Also a dozen of clam cakes and 2 pints of chowder. Always excellent Everything was very good besides the baked potatoes. They were over cooked. They were so hard we couldnt eat the filling.. The sampler was very good and ate it 3 times. You get alot.

This place was more than just a restaurant for my husband and myself. While most of the staff wasn't aware of why were briefly became regulars they were amazing. They were friendly, and very personable. The food was great with large servings at a very affordable price, especial when compared to other restaurants in the area. We were in the Cranston area for 3 weeks while our 24 yr old daughter was receiving from a stroke. Chelo's was our decompress and feed ourselves place while dealing with an inescapable nightmare. It will always have a special place in our heart, and I love their stuffies.

One of the best restaurants around. Hubby and I were looking for a good sit down and he remembered eating here a while back. Worth the trip from Fall River in the cold. Food was amazing and the drinks were on point and mind you, my hubby is very very picky and this met all of his expectations. Our waiter Zach was awesome and didn’t leave us hanging for one second. Food was hot and drink were strong. Will definitely go back. New weekend eatery spot for hubs and I.

I’ve been a regular at Chelo’s of Cranston for several years, visiting multiple times per week, and I can honestly say that my experience has always been exceptional—whether I visit during the day shift or the night. Carla, in particular, stands out as an outstanding bartender and server. Her professionalism, friendliness, and attentiveness consistently elevate my dining experience. Having bartended myself for over 30 years at various establishments, I truly appreciate the talent, hard work, and dedication that Carla and the entire team bring to the table. It’s unfortunate how some clientele can sometimes misconstrue the effort behind great service, but I want to wholeheartedly recommend Chelo’s of Cranston, especially with Carla as your server. The staff here is simply top-notch—Tanya, Madi, Hannah, Missy, Brittany, Emily, Melanie, Hector, Wayne, and many others—each one consistently demonstrates excellence and genuine care for their guests. It’s this team’s dedication that keeps me coming back. If you’re looking for a welcoming atmosphere with outstanding service, Chelo’s of Cranston, and Carla in particular, come highly recommended.

Took my dad here today for Father’s Day. My dad is 87 years old and has dementia. The wait staff were excellent. Our waiter Gabe was extra exceptional. Would recommend this facility for dining in. Food was excellent. Very friendly and accommodating. Management was great in meeting my preference the day I made the reservation. They deserve more than a 5*. **************

Friendly service. Wide variety of menu options. Reasonably priced. Good spot to eat alone or in groups. Free parking.

We had Brittney as our server and they were fantastic! Attentive, hospitable and kind! Would come back just to get seated in their section

I've been dining at Chelo's since I was a kid and I'm 61. The food is awesome. The service is unbeatable. And the atmosphere is definitely family orientated. You will never have a bad meal at Chelo's. Love it.
